Is there a ‘green’ eco friendly mobile phone?

Sony Ericsson told us its Naite handset is available today and it will cost a reasonable $159 unlocked.

The Naite (ridiculously pronounced “nigh-tay”) isn’t going to wow anyone with its standard candybar form, but you will get some green cred because it’s part of the company’s eco-friendly GreenHeart lineup. This means the body is made from 50% recycled materials, it has a low-consumption charger and there’s no wasteful manual in the box.

Mobile Marketing: Achieving Competitive Advantage Through Wireless Technology

The handset is by no means a powerhouse but the feature phone has 3G (AT&T (NYSE: T) bands), Bluetooth, Facebook integration and all the music-playing goodness you’d expect from a Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) handset.
