Move over Craigslist, mobile classified ads are on the way. Having once lived in NY, Queens to be exact, I relied on Craigslist to sale a lot of my unwanted goods like furniture, clothing, electronics and whatever else I could make a buck on. The only problem was, most people did not want to travel to where I lived especially if they lived in the Bronx or Manhattan. So I would have to make the trip to Union Square or somewhere convenient to meet my buyer halfway. It would have been much more convenient to find buyers or sellers somewhere nearby to make things a whole lot easier. Well, it seems a new service may do just that.
Mmatcher is a new online service that is bringing location-aware classified ads to mobile phones. Mmatcher promises personalized ads in real time, spam protected, and location-aware. The service will be available on the iPhone, Android, Twitter, web and Java phones. I imagine the service will let you do more than simply buy and sell clothing, furniture and automobiles. Maybe it will help you find child care services, tutors available for hire, or garage sales. Guess we will just have to wait and see.
